Energy Conscious Properties specializes in mechanical engineering design and energy efficiency consulting for low energy buildings.  

As a design firm, we share a conscience that is intertwined with our individual personal values of integrity, hard work, technical proficiency and environmental stewardship.  We believe that the buildings we work on should also have a conscience by reflecting these same values.

ECP projects will:

• Be healthy and safe – All of our projects will keep their occupants healthy and safe by ensuring code compliance and best practice within our scope.

• Minimize environmental impacts, especially energy consumption – As a society, we need to work aggressively to minimize, and ultimately reverse, environmental degredation and climate change.  Buildings of all sizes represent a real opportunity achieving these goals.  We work on new construction and renovations but especially enjoy the challenges of working on historic buildings that have already served functional lives for generations.

• Represent long term value – It is our experience that long term value is rarely achieved with the lowest first costs.  We take our clients’ budgets seriously and will work to identify opportunities to improve the energy performance at the best possible value.  

• Emphasize durability – We expect that our project buildings will be around for a very long time.  Our designs include the requirements of durability and maintainability as criteria.

• Utilize a methodical process – We believe that every project is unique which requires us to challenge assumptions and design with patience. Our goals are to engage with our clients at a very early stage and work closely with other project designers, consultants and installing contractors.
